Fay Hodza

Fay is the regional coordinator of the African Center for School Leadership (ACSL), a coalition dedicated to strengthening school leadership across Africa. Coordinated by four Pan-African organizations, ACSL focuses on professional development, research, and policy advice. Rather than directly training school leaders, it collaborates with governments to identify best practices, conduct school leadership mapping, and develop policies. Active in Rwanda, Kenya, and Ghana, ACSL plans to expand to Malawi, Liberia, Tanzania, and Sierra Leone. The approach shifts school leadership from a supervisory role to an instructional one, where leaders create supportive environments for teachers who improve student learning outcomes and wellbeing.

“ The ACSL’s mission is to strengthen school leadership systems that improve learning outcomes and wellbeing for all, with a specific focus on the learners themselves.”
